Our Process

How we produce our full-spectrum extracts

Our process starts with washing our dried hemp flower with a food grade pure ethanol to dissolve all of the cannabinoids into the ethanol solution.  We then chill and filter this “wash” before siphoning it into our rotary evaporator where the ethanol is removed and recycled for use again.

After evaporating the ethanol, the wash is ready to be further refined through decarboxylation. We decarboxylate this thick molasses-like substance for a couple reasons: it ensures complete removal of any residual ethanol solvent that might be remaining in the wash and it converts unstable cannabinoid acids in the wash to stable forms which prolongs shelf life and increases bio-availability. Once  the wash has been ‘decarbed’, our short path distillation equipment removes unnecessary and inactive plant matter and leaves us with a highly-concentrated, pure cannabinoid extract.

The extract becomes a tincture when we precisely and carefully mix just the right amount of our pure extract into our preferred carrier oil (organic MCT coconut oil). Those 2 components are the only 2 ingredients in all of our Natural Hemp flavors. For those who might prefer a flavored oil, we use a couple drops of organic essential oil to offer 3 flavor alternatives: lemon, orange and peppermint .
